Mixed Containers

  • All food, beverage, and household plastic containers
  • Plastic: Bottles, judgs/tubs, pails, clamshells
    • Empty containers only
    • Remove caps and lids
  • Metal: Steel and aluminum cans, foil, and trays
    • For food and beverages
    • Empty containers only
  • TetraPak and gable top cartons: Juice boxes and cartons, boxed soup, and milk cartons

Mixed Paper

All household and office paper:

  • Newspaper
  • Magazines
  • Telephone books
  • Greeting cards
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Paper bags with single and multiple paper layers (eg: pet food bags)
  • Catalogues
  • Flyers
  • Paper gift wrap
  • Beverage cups

Not Acceptable

  • Plastic wrap and shrink wrap for meat, poultry, fish or cheese
  • Plastic bags or any soft plastics
  • Glass Jars and containers
  • Styrofoam packaging and trays
  • Wax Cardboard boxes
  • Paper towels, napkins or tissues
  • Non-paper gift wrap, e.g. foil gift wrap
  • Used motor oil containers & batteries
  • Liquid-absorbing pads, e.g. in trays of meat, poultry, fish, etc.
  • Mirror, window glass, ceramics and porcelain
  • Plastics that are not containers, e.g. toys, laundry baskets, plastic cutlery
  • Foil-lined boxes or bags
  • Plastic blister packs, e.g. plastic/paper packaging for batteries, toothbrushes
  • Cell phones/electronics
  • Propane bottles
  • Medical packaging/waste (needles)
  • Hardcover or Soft cover books
